keepers asked us to help with enrichments for the zoo's teddy bear day event. we had both started on cat crafts but with two days notice we were able to produce enough bear enrichment toys for both event days! i made some party bags (two grocery sized bags with mache paste between them to add extra reinforcement) with bears and flowers painted on them and some bear cut outs that could be adhered to the grizzly windows with honey or peanut butter. in this case it was honey! lee made some white mache balls with seven different colors, one chosen to represent each of our seven bears. ... pictured: kachina, kiona, ulu, wishbone, annie. ... we miss you little annie.
